Understanding Upland Status

All players in Upland maintain a status level that reflects their impact on the economy. Leveling up your status can grant access to exclusive activities and features that would otherwise be inaccessible. Status levels are determined by a player’s Net Worth. Player Net Worth is a function of the combined value of players' properties in addition to their UPX balance (Property Values + UPX = Net Worth). Uncollected UPX earnings however are not counted towards the net worth.

Visitor

New players start with the Visitor Status, reflecting a net worth between 0 to 9,999 UPX. As a visitor, you will be required to renew your Upland visa every seven days; you'll have to actively log in to renew it. If the visa is not renewed all of the player's properties will be recycled and the collected UPX will flow back into the community pool.

Uplander

Once a player reaches a net worth of at least 10,000 UPX, they will have the option of leveling up to Uplander. Becoming an Uplander means that your account and properties will now be permanently stored on the blockchain. If you achieve Uplander Status, you do not have to fear the risk of your account being recycled. At the moment of achieving Uplander status, the game permanently links the game account with an EOS account in the backend, at which point you gain true ownership of your digital assets. This means that once you own a property, it's yours. The Upland team can never take it away from you or make you sell it.

Perhaps more important than all of that, becoming an Uplander grants you access to the secondary marketplace, which means you can now list your properties for UPX and USD. This is a huge milestone for new players, as it truly opens up their ability to interact with the Upland economy. Additionally, if a player levels up to Uplander during a certain period of the month, they will earn a small amount of Spark. Keep an eye on the Events Calendar for when Status Up Spark Rewards are activated.

Pro

Once a player reaches a net worth of at least 100,000 UPX, they will have the option of leveling up to Pro. Reaching Pro unlocks a new set of exclusive block explorers and enables the "Pro" icon which is proudly displayed on your block explorer. Additionally, if a player levels up to Pro during a certain period of the month, they will earn a small amount of Spark. Keep an eye on the Events Calendar for when Status Up Spark Rewards are activated.

Director

The Director Status is granted to players who have a net worth of at least 1,000,000 UPX. Directors have the luxury of applying to have their very own custom block explorer at City Hall. Directors will have the opportunity to send a draft, photo, or design of their desired block explorer to the Upland design team. The Upland team will then take your design and turn it into your very own one-of-a-kind block explorer! Players who level up to Director will also receive .5 Spark for their achievement.

Executive

In September of 2020, Upland introduced the Executive Status as a follow-up to the Director Status. Executives need to hold a net worth of at least 10,000,000 UPX. Reaching executive status cements your status as an Elite player in Upland. Players who level up to Executive will also receive 1 Spark for their achievement.

Chief Executive

In June of 2021, the Upland team once again expanded the Upland Status program to include the Chief Executive status for players who have amassed over 100,000,000 UPX in net worth. This is the most exclusive tier in Upland, and only the most dedicated players can achieve this status.

Leveling Up

Once you achieve your target net worth, you'll have the option to level up to a new status. To do so, you'll need to log in and click on the "level up" button in your profile menu.
