KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED AND AVOID TRESPASSING Although Upland properties are based on real-world addresses, the virtual properties you own in the metaverse have no bearing or claim on the corresponding real-world address. Upland is a location-based metaverse and so there may be opportunities to collect coin drops in real life using the metaverse’s location-based features; however, players should never trespass on private property or land in order to play. That pizza joint you own in Upland won’t be dishing out a free slice of pepperoni on the production of your virtual property deeds! When it comes to getting out and about playing Upland in real-life locations, we encourage everyone to exercise caution and play safely. Here are some things to consider while you roam: Be aware of your environment and avoid going into any inappropriate or dangerous areas.Players should remain aware of hazards, including traffic, obstacles, and other pedestrians. As with any mobile app, Upland should not be played while operating any kind of vehicle. But you already knew that, didn’t you!
RESPECT YOUR FELLOW UPLANDERS It may look like a Pixel Duck, but it’s worth remembering that behind every Avatar is a real-world human. With that in mind, it’s in everyone’s best interest to be respectful to each other, both in the metaverse and while using the location-based features––in case you ever bump into another Uplander at a coin drop for instance, virtually or in real life. Here are some guidelines for harmonious roaming:
Don’t abuse, harass or threaten any other players.
Don’t impersonate other players or the Upland team.
Don’t dox or expose other players’ identities without their consent. This includes any information about another user’s identity, including their name, phone number, email address or physical address, even if a player discloses that info first.
DON’T CHEAT, DON’T ATTACK, ALCATRAZ IS WAITING… Respect the life, liberty and property of others, and don’t deny yourself or someone else an authentic metaverse experience by cheating. Methods of cheating include, but are not limited to:
Owning more than one account as a player (“Multi-Accounting”)
Using tools or techniques to alter or falsify your location (“spoofing”)
Intentionally exploiting a bug in Upland to gain a reward
Attacking Upland servers, databases and player accounts
Those who cheat or attack will be sent in Upland to Alcatraz islands near San Francisco at the discretion of the Upland team. Some might stay short, others may stay there forever and can not be seen or visited by other Uplanders. Severe penalties may hinder them to ever enjoy the metaverse again. Remember: Being sent to Alcatraz is not an honor.
KEEP IT CLEAN AND AVOID INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT Upland is a metaverse designed and open for everyone above 18 years of age. Content created and stored on Upland servers may be reviewed or removed if it’s inappropriate or illegal. This content may include:
Sexual or pornographic content
Obscenities or derogatory content

Content posted with the intent to abuse or harass another player
We will review reported or flagged player accounts and content to determine whether or not they violate the Terms of Service and/or these guidelines. Accounts found in violation may receive a warning, its player may be sent to Alcatraz.
This trusty guide should keep you in good stead for your journey through Upland. If you ever find yourself in any llama drama or have any questions about our guidelines or Terms of Service, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and our team will be on hand to help.
