Rio, or “The Marvelous City” as it is known today is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the South Western Hemisphere attracting over 2.8 million tourists each year. The city boasts an abundance of significant cultural heritage and world-famous attractions, including: the Tijuca Forest (possibly the world's largest urban forest featuring the famous 98-feet-tall Christ the Redeemer statue), Corcovado and Sugarloaf mountains, the annual Carnival festival, and of course the beautiful sun-soaked sandy beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema (the latter having inspired the famous Bossa Nova hit song “The Girl from Ipanema.”)
