See Upland Like Never Before: The Next-Gen Visual Upgrade Is Coming
September 22, 2026

Troves are coming, and our immediate focus is getting them finished and into your hands. With launch now expected during October, we’re taking the additional time to test and polish a much bigger experience: over 500 Troves and deeper evolving recipes, compared with the 180 Troves in the Genesis Week test.
Upland is evolving, and it’s evolving fast. There is so much happening in Upland to be excited about. In the last year alone, we’ve delivered more development updates and improvements than in the previous five years combined, and we’re not slowing down anytime soon.
Today, we want to share more of what we’re working on and testing behind the scenes to bring to you after Troves launches. We’re continuing to execute on our vision for Upland and improve your everyday gameplay in many ways.
A Look at What’s Coming After Troves
After Troves have launched, we’ll introduce a major visual upgrade for Upland that is already in development.
The upgrade brings higher-resolution visuals, sharper detail, and lighting with shadows that give the world more depth, from neighborhood buildings to the plants and objects on your property.
Every image in this announcement was captured in our in-game test environment. These are not AI-generated or enhanced images, concept art, or artistic renderings. This is Upland running in tests today.
We’re not announcing a release date for the visual upgrade yet. For now, we want to give you a preview of where Upland is headed after Troves.

Get Closer. See the Difference.
Look at the individual leaves and flowers. The texture of the garden paths. The rocks around a pond, the details on a building, and the map assets that make a property your own.
These close-ups show what this upgrade is about: more detail to discover in the places you’ve built. Sharper plants, clearer surfaces, and more defined objects give each property a richer sense of character. Lighting and static shadows add depth to buildings and their surroundings.

You’ve put time, creativity, and care into your properties. We want that work to shine, whether you’re showing off a garden, decorating a business, or exploring what your neighbors have created.
Your World, Brought Into Focus
Our team has put significant engineering work into making this visual improvement possible across devices. The ambition is bigger than a beautiful screenshot: it’s a more immersive Upland that players can experience on the devices they already use.
From a single flower to a whole neighborhood, we want the world to reward a closer look.

Raising The Bar for Upland
Our vision is to keep pushing Upland forward with greater depth, immersion, and visual quality, while staying true to the player-built world that makes it unique.
Today’s screenshots are an early look at that direction taking shape. This is work our team is doing now, and it’s one piece of a much bigger future for Upland.
If you’ve been away, come back and see what’s already here. And if you’ve been building, exploring, and making connections, you already know the neighborhoods and the world taking shape around you. Bring back an old friend or introduce someone new. Start with your property. Show them what you’ve built. Then invite them to be part of the world we’re all building together.
To life, liberty, and property.
