- Also known as the 51st Cavalry Brigade Armory, the Staten Island Armory was the first National Guard Armory constructed in Staten Island in 1927.
- The Staten Island Armory resembles a medieval fortress with patterned brickwork, stepped brick lintels, a large entrance opening with an arch, and a projecting buttress.
- Designed in the Castellated style, the Staten Island Armory was one of only three armories built statewide in the 1920s.
