An Update on Our NFLPA Partnership

We want to share an important update regarding our NFLPA partnership: we’ve made the decision to pause it for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Why Are We Pausing?

From the start, we set out to create a compelling NFLPA experience in Upland, and we’ve brought you unique opportunities to collect, trade, and engage with your favorite players. But now we have decided to take a break for the following reasons:

First, our long-term vision for this partnership requires a consistent and stable framework that is open to innovation, which we believe is currently lacking, based onthe recent experiences we have had.

In the past, we’ve engaged in negotiations with the NFLPA to bring the partnership to the next level and by adding new game loops that ensure continuous engagement and fun, our community deserves and to meet our own standards in the progression of features.

Unfortunately, we’ve faced challenges aligningon a structure that ensures consistency, reliability and innovation. These requirements are essential to delivering the best possible experience in Upland.

Looking at other partnerships, such as FIFA, we can see what’s possible when there’s a clear and stable framework in place. That’s the standard we aim to bring to NFLPA content as well, but we’re not there yet.

On top of that, recent legal developments involving the NFLPA (read more here) have created additional uncertainty, making it the right time for us to pause and reassess, protecting Upland and our community fromany potential impact as the situation unfolds.

As we’ve shared before, all features in Upland are constantly evaluated to ensure the best experience for our players. Like any gaming project, we sometimes have to make tough decisions to reevaluate certain features when continuing them would come at the expense of others. One of those strategic decisions is to continue to put a stronger emphasis on city-building features, such as the launch of new Service Structures, Uppies, Life, and more, while continuing to explore the best ways to integrate partnerships into that broader vision.

What Does This Mean for My NFLPA Legits?

Your Legits are here to stay. You can still buy, trade, and collect NFLPA Legits just as you always have. We remain committed to supporting these assets in Upland, starting with future burn events, and we’ll continue exploring additional ways to keep them relevant and engaging.

We know you may have questions, so here are some quick answers to help clarify what this means for you:

Can I still buy, sell, or trade NFLPA Legits?
Yes. All existing NFLPA Legits remain fully active and tradeable in Upland. Nothing changes about their use in the marketplace.

Will my NFLPA Legits lose value?
The value of any asset in Upland is determined by the market, but we’re committed to keeping these assets active and exploring ways to enhance their engagement through burns and other potential activities.

Will Upland release any new NFLPA Legits during the pause?
No new NFLPA Legits will be released during this pause, but existing assets remain fully supported.

Does this mean the NFLPA partnership is over?
No. This is a pause, not a termination. We plan to revisit negotiations once the NFLPA’s situation stabilizes and we can secure a partnership structure that works for our community.

Will there still be NFLPA-related events in the future?
Yes. Burn events are planned, and we’ll explore additional opportunities for engagement as we move forward.

What’s Next?

When the overall situation around the NFLPA becomes clearer, we will resume discussions with the goal of aligning on a structure that ensures stability and consistency for our community. In the meantime, we’ll continue creating opportunities to use and engage with your NFLPA Legits as part of the Upland experience.

Thank you for your understanding and continued passion and trust as we make decisions that prioritize what matters most: your experience.

Stay tuned for more updates and upcoming events!
