Many of our community members are familiar with the Upland Auction House, a bi-monthly auction hosted by Upland team members General Mort and X1TheGamer. Each auction features our community’s finest properties, boosting their discoverability and value. Fresh off our most successful auction, we are excited to announce a special holiday edition of the Upland Auction House, the Upland Gala, a high-class, high-stakes community auction! 

Next Wednesday, December 22nd, at 11:00 AM PT, we will host the Upland Gala featuring an assortment of only the rarest and most exclusive properties from across the metaverse, including a few unminted properties of our own. In celebration of the holiday season, we will be matching 50% of the UPX proceeds from our unminted auctions as a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital to support the ongoing care of children in need. Throughout the show, we will also be awarding 15 lucky players with 25k UPX, so be sure not to miss out!

The Auction

This auction will feature 10 Rare and Ultra-Rare properties submitted by the community, in addition to a collection of exclusive properties directly from the Upland team. These properties will include 5 unminted Ultra-Rare properties and 1 unminted Train Terminal. 

Note: We ask that players who apply to be included in next week’s auction submit only Rare and Ultra-Rare properties.

As with normal auctions, the Upland Gala will take place in the #auctions channel in the Upland Discord server. Players will bid for an opportunity to purchase the property currently up for auction. The player with the highest bid at the time the auction expires will be declared the winner. All auction participants will also need to be verified prior to the start of the auction, so make sure to fill out the form below.

Unminted Auctions & Minting Caps

Property earnings in Upland are calculated based on the original mint value for each property, which means that auctions for unminted properties have been a challenge in the past. For this special edition auction, we will be imposing minting caps for each of the unminted properties going to auction. Players can pay above the mint price, but any UPX paid in excess of the mint value will not be counted towards property earnings. 

For example, a property is up for auction with a starting price of 100k UPX and a minting cap of 1M UPX. Players will be free to bid on this property as much as they like, however, property earnings will be calculated based on the minting cap for that property. If a player were to purchase this property for 2M UPX, the additional 1M UPX will be paid as a premium. 

In order to facilitate these transactions, winning bidders will purchase these properties from an account managed by the Upland Team strictly for the purposes of the Upland Auction House. Otherwise, this account will not claim ownership of additional properties, and all UPX earnings will be burned after the conclusion of the auction.
