Cleveland is Here!

Cleveland is Here!

This Thursday, June 24th, at 9:00 AM PT, we plan to go live with the initial release of Cleveland, Ohio. To ensure the economic balance of supply and demand, we will be releasing ~25% of (random) properties at launch. These properties will be released in a single wave.

Cleveland will serve as a “mid-tier” city in which roughly 50% of properties will be priced under the “Fair Start Act” (FSA).

Cleveland Fun Facts:

  • Cleveland became the first city to be lit by electricity, thanks to Charles Brush and his arc lamp when he lit the Public Square in 1879.
  • The city is named after Moses Cleaveland who founded the city while surveying the Western Reserve in 1796. The extra “a” was dropped later in 1831 by a newspaper called the Cleveland Advertiser.
  • Co-creators of Superman Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster are both from Cleveland, Ohio. It’s widely believed that the concept of Superman was born in Siegel’s house at 10622 Kimberly Ave. in the early 1930s.

Cleveland Release Details

Similar to Chicago, Cleveland will be released in “Vanilla Mode,” which means that details for the predetermined collections will be revealed at a later date.

Collection details for cities that are released in Vanilla Mode are minted to the blockchain prior to the release to ensure provable fairness for all players; please check out this Medium post for more details. When collections are revealed, all unminted properties will be repriced to reflect the collection’s impact on property value. It’s important to understand that Vanilla Mode adds an additional layer of skill to property-buying strategies, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Getting To Cleveland

If players are looking to get to Cleveland, they’ll be able to travel to the city in one of two ways; the Hyperloop or the train terminal. Players who use the Hyperloop will pay a premium for an expedited journey while players who travel via the train will pay a lower-cost fare with a longer ride. These new routes will include boosted capacity for a few days prior to and during the release.
