Introducing “The Census”: Your Go-To Hub for Upland Neighborhood Insights
September 16, 2025

At its core, Upland is a game about property trading, development, and building a thriving, player-driven version of the real world. With the upcoming launch of residents, we’re taking a major step forward in evolving that experience, turning neighborhoods into living, competitive communities where every decision matters.
As we get closer to officially welcoming residents into Upland, we’ve been pulling back the curtain to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what our developers have been hard at work on. From features that bring neighborhoods to life to tools that empower Uplanders to thrive, and today, we’re excited to share something that will be at the heart of it all.
We’re building a powerful new tool to help you navigate the world of residents in Upland: a dynamic, data-driven website we’re calling “The Census.”
What is The Census?
The Census is designed to be a helpful tool for exploring neighborhoods and understanding how residents are shaping Upland. It will offer players access to key stats, trends, and rankings, providing a clearer picture of where things stand and helping inform decisions about where to live, build, and compete.
While The Census will launch first as a web experience, the plan is to fully integrate it into the Upland app, rounding out the in-game experience and putting key data at your fingertips.
The images shown in this post are mockups of the mobile version of the site, final designs may change, and we’re only sharing a sneak peek of the data you’ll be able to explore.
Neighborhood Overview at a Glance
The first layer of The Census shows every neighborhood in Upland, giving you high-level insights into how each one is performing. You’ll find:
- Rank— Global ranking of the neighborhood
- Residents— Total number of residents who’ve chosen to live there
- Occupancy— The neighborhood’s overall occupancy rate

One key feature to watch: Trending bars. These aren’t just static indicators, they’re comparative. That means your neighborhood’s performance is measured every 24 hours against others, giving you valuable feedback on where you stand and how things are changing.

Clicking into any neighborhood unlocks a deeper layer of insight, where you can also view:
- Density— How densely populated the neighborhood is
- Service Units— Total number of Service Units constructed
- Decoration— Current decoration score
- Transportation— Current transportation score
Each of these metrics also includes a trend indicator, showing how your neighborhood stacks up in each category, critical data for strategizing and optimizing your residency.
Even More to Explore
Beyond resident stats and infrastructure scores, The Census will include additional valuable market data for each neighborhood:
- Floor Parcel Price
- Average Parcel Price
- Original Mint Transaction
- Last Transaction
This kind of transparency will not only benefit current players, it will also help new and prospective players get a better understanding of Upland’s neighborhoods and decide where to plant their flag.
What’s Next?
This is just the beginning. The Census will roll out on the web first, then make its way into the app for full in-game accessibility. As residents begin to populate Upland, this tool will become a vital part of how players strategize, socialize, and succeed.
At its core, Upland is a game about property trading, development, and creating areal-world city-building experience, shaped entirely by its players. With residents and The Census, we’re deepening that experience and giving you the insights needed to play smarter, build better, and compete harder.
Stay tuned, more exciting updates are on the way as we get closer to launch. Upland is about to change forever, and there’s never been a better time to be part of it!
