Our Mini Game Competition is here to challenge all talented community members out there. Here’s a chance to transform your imaginative game concepts into reality and receive 1,000,000 UPX!

Here's How It Works:

Game Type

In this Competition, we’re looking for players to bring fun & easy to play mini games into Upland. Check out the full list of requirements below to make sure your game will meet the Upland Team’s approval criteria.

Game Inspirations 

Here are some game inspirations to spark your creativity:

• Classic Board Games: Chess, Checkers
• Arcade Hits: Snake, Pac-man, Tetris
• Sports Challenges: Bowling, Pop-A-Shot (Arcade Basketball)
• Strategic Play: Tower Defense, Ropes

Full Requirements 

• Using pre-developed open-source games is allowed. 
• The game must have an element of skill (no gambling or any casino games allowed)
• The game must include a rewarding system or tournament mode by utilizing Upland’s Tournament API. 
• The game must leverage escrow services and Upland’s Identity Mapping. 
• The game must be launched prior to the competition period end date. 
• The game must not contain any hate speech, profanity, or derogatory/inappropriate text.

Important Note: The Upland Team reserves the right to disqualify or deny any game submissions at their own discretion. 

**The game must not be enrolled in a UDN Pro development. If you are part of the UDN Pro, you can still participate, but the game you integrate for this competition must not already be part of a UDN Pro development.**

Competition Period

Begin your game development journey by creating a game that you can complete within the given timeframe. Your game must be fully launched by the competition’s end date for you to receive the competition prize. 

• Competition Starts: Friday, October 13th
• Competition Ends: Thursday, December 14th, at 9 AM PT

Prizes

All players who meet the requirements and successfully launch their game during the competition period will receive a grand prize of 1,000,000 UPX! Each player's UPX rewards will be distributed in two batches. After the competition period has ended the game creators will receive 50% of the UPX rewards, while the remaining 50% will be given one month after the game is still live and playable.

Note: The prizes will be awarded to the account that owns the dev shop.

Monetization Considerations 

Before you dive into developing a game for the competition, it's essential to think about how you'll be able to monetize your game. When pondering your game's monetization strategy, take a look at these options:

‍

• Pay-to-Play: Charge a UPX fee to grant access to the game.
• Prize Pool: Players can either contribute their Legits or pay UPX to participate, and a portion of the winnings goes to the victors while the remainder goes to you.
• Subscription Model: Provide special benefits in exchange for a regular fee.

Note: These three monetization models are just suggestions from the Upland Team and are not mandatory.
