The Metaventure program is expanding with the arrival of NFLPA Fan Shops! Starting today, players can visit 40 new Fan Shop Metaventures operated by Uplanders across the metaverse. Head over to any of these shops to purchase unique NFLPA Legits for your favorite football players! Be sure to update the Upland app to view all the new Metaventures.
Bolstering the Metaventure Economy
NFLPA Fan Shops introduce the secondary market and give players the opportunity to buy and sell their Legits on Upland’s open marketplace. Up until now, there was no way to facilitate trades of this nature outside of swapping and UPX transfers. This is the first real opportunity for players to leverage these assets to earn in the metaverse.
Fan Shops are also Upland’s first initiative toward empowering players to leverage exclusive brand content to generate new revenue streams. This is an incredibly unique opportunity, as it provides an otherwise unobtainable, unique level of access for Metaventure Entrepreneurs. This is one way that Upland is changing how individuals can develop, market, and monetize their brands in the digital world. All branding assets used for NFLPA Fan Shops, however, are subject to approval by the NFLPA.
NFLPA Fan Shops
NFLPA Fan shops will be denoted on the map via the same orange POI markers as Block Explorer Shops. At the appropriate zoom level, the shop itself will appear with signage for the shop’s name, as well as a floating 3D Foam Finger atop the structure. Players can enter the shop to browse the owner’s inventory of Legits to preview or make a purchase.
Venture Dues
NFLPA Fan Shops will be the first Metaventure-type that will employ the Venture Dues model. Each Metaventure owner will be required to pay a dynamic fee on the 1st of every month. This fee is a percentage of the monthly median contribution of UPX funds paid to the Upland Community Pool from Metaventures of the same type. Venture Dues for NFLPA Fan Shops will start accruing on April 1st with the first payment due between May 1st and May 7th.
Further Expanding Metaventures
In the near future, the Block Explorer Shop Beta will come to a close, and we will open up the program for any willing player! Expect NFLPA Fan Shops to be the next Metaventure to exit the beta phase with the Outdoor Decor closed beta arriving soon after. Metaventures are a work in progress, but we’ll continue iterating on this experience to build out new features to aid discoverability and more!
