Own a Piece of Upland History: How to Score the First UORIGIN Uppies

The first-ever Uppies have arrived in Upland, introducing the UORIGIN Batch, the inaugural batch of a new kind of digital asset in the game. There will never be another UORIGIN Batch, making these Uppies a unique opportunity for players to own a true piece of Upland history.

Uppies aren’t just collectible characters. They are designed to support Upland’s foundation of property trading and neighborhood development. They will bring new layers of gameplay through employment in Service Structures, while also adding personality, identity, and depth to your properties and communities. From strategic utility to creative expression, Uppies are here to expand how you build and interact in Upland.

We’re also excited to share that the Merge mechanic is set to go live in the next few weeks. This feature will allow players to combine Uppies to level them up, with the potential to unlock powerful and rare versions, including the first-ever IPU-level Uppies. Sometime after that, the Uppie Discovery Minigame will introduce even more ways to explore and interact with your Uppies.

To help players prepare, Upland is offering multiple ways to buy, win, and earn UORIGIN Uppies, including exclusive sales, leaderboard events, social contests, and more.

Players will also be able to buy, sell, and trade Uppies through the secondary market in Upland via Variety Shops.

Uppie Sweetener Sale

The first way to acquire UORIGIN Uppies is through the Uppie Sweetener Sale, which offers bundles of UPX paired with packs of random Uppies. Each Uppie Pack contains 3 randomly selected Uppies from the UORIGIN generation.

Uppies in these packs range in level from 1 to 10. The most common levels are between 1 and 4, while higher levels become increasingly rare. A very small number of players may receive level 10 Uppies directly from the sale, making this an exciting opportunity for early participants.

All packs are delivered open at the time of purchase, so players will immediately see which Uppies they’ve received. Packs themselves are not tradable or resellable as a unit. Only the individual Uppies contained within can be bought, sold, or traded.

Season Pass Holders

As a thank-you to our Season Pass participants, we’re offering a one-time reward for Wonderland Season Pass holders. Any player who has burned a Wonderland Season Pass before Thursday, January 15 at 9:00 AM PT will automatically receive one random UORIGIN Uppie dropped into their account. These will be dropped on Thursday after the cutoff.

This additional reward acknowledges the ongoing contributions of our Season Pass community and gives them a head start in the world of Uppies.

UORIGIN Ledger Event

We’re also launching the UORIGIN Uppie Ledger Event. A limited-time contest that gives players a chance to win over 800 additional Uppies, distributed based on leaderboard performance and raffle participation.

Start: Tuesday, January 13 at 9:00 AM PT
End: Tuesday, January 27 at 9:00 AM PT

Any player who logs into Upland and visits a City Hall during the event window will receive one free entry into the Ledger event, no purchase required. This gives all players a baseline chance to win one additional Uppie Pack.

To gain additional entries and compete on the leaderboard, players must complete one paid Send to any City Hall during the event window, which will automatically grant one entry. After that, every USD purchase (both secondary and primary market)made during the event period earns additional entries. The more you spend, the higher you’ll climb on the leaderboard, increasing your chances to earn bonus Uppies.

The more than 800 UORIGIN Uppies reserved for this event will be distributed among the top 50 players on the leaderboard, with rewards scaled by rank. The first-place player will receive the largest number of Uppies, followed by second place, third place, and so on, down through the fiftieth spot. In addition to leaderboard prizes, one bonus pack containing 3 Uppies will be raffled off to all participants who enter the event.

All transactions will be monitored to ensure fair play. Activities such as circular trading or coordinated manipulation between accounts to inflate spend will result in disqualification from the leaderboard, with no opportunity to appeal.

The live leaderboard will be available once the event begins.

Uppiepedia Wishlist Contest

From January 13 at 9:00 AM PT to January 20 at 9:00 AM PT, we’re launching a social media contest that gives players another way to win Uppie Packs.

How It Works:

  • Visit Uppiepedia and browse the available Uppies.
  • Click the “share” button in the top-right corner to copy a link to your favorite Uppie.
  • Share it on X (formerly Twitter) with your reason for choosing it.
  • Be sure to include your Upland IGN and use the hashtag #Uppies.

Prizes:

  • 25 packs will be given away to players based on the quality of their submissions.
  • Players can enter more than once and are encouraged to share daily and as many uppies as possible to maximize their chances.
  • Final winners will be selected on Monday, January 19 after 9:00 AM PT.

Prepare for What’s Next

Everything in this release is designed to prepare for the upcoming Merge mechanic, which is expected to go live within the next few weeks. Once active, players will be able to combine their Uppies to increase levels and potentially unlock the first IPU Uppies in Upland.

Sometime after the Merge mechanic, the Uppie Discovery Minigame will launch, introducing another layer of gameplay, strategy, and opportunity to the world of Uppies.
