NFLPA Legits are officially coming to the Upland metaverse! Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 15th, at 8:00 AM PT, players will be able to register for a special sale of Legits from the 2020 football season. The sale will start following registration on Thursday, September 16th, at 11:00 AM PT. 

Registered participants will be randomly drawn to purchase a selection of packages containing both essentials and mementos from both the regular and post-season. To celebrate this momentous occasion, this first batch of packs will be discounted for a limited time, so be sure to act quickly!

The 2020 Legits Kickoff Show

This morning, co-founder Idan Zuckerman, X1TheGamer, and General Mort hosted a special kickoff show to commemorate the launch of 2020 NFL Player Legits! Immediately following the presentation, Idan took the lead on answering questions from the community on all things NFLPA Legits.

Legit Packs

2020 NFL Player Legit packs will contain a variety of Legits from players across the league. Each pack will have the potential to contain different items. The items in each pack will vary in terms of item rarity depending on the type of pack purchased. 

For the 2020 season, players have been categorized by the level of importance to their team, which determines which players’ Legits will come in each pack. Players are either considered a “Superstar” player (one of the top 3 most important players) or an “Impact” player (one of the top 30 most important players - excluding the top 3). Each pack will contain a different combination of these two categories of players. 

Essentials Pack | $12 ($10) | Qty: 2,500

Contains 10 NFL Impact Player Essentials. This does not include any Legits for Superstar players.

Game Pack | $80 ($65) | Qty: 1,000

Contains 9 NFL Impact Player Essentials and 1 Impact Player Memento. This pack includes a very small chance to contain a game ball.

Superstar Pack | $230 ($185) | Qty: 150

Contains 9 NFL Superstar Player Essentials and 1 Superstar Memento. This pack includes a small chance to contain a game ball.

Post Season Pack | $450 ($360) | Qty: 60

Contains 9 NFL Impact Player Essentials and 1 Impact Player Memento. These Legits will only be from the 2020 post-season. This pack includes a small chance to contain a game ball.

Post Season Superstar Pack | $1300 ($1040) | Qty: 10

Contains 9 NFL Superstar Player Essentials and 1 Superstar Player Memento. These Legits will only be from the 2020 post-season. This pack includes a small chance to contain a game ball.

Note: 2020 Legits will not be immediately available and will be delivered to players over the coming weeks.

How to Purchase 2020 Legits

Legits from the 2020 season will only be available for US dollars in the web version of the Upland app. These Legits will be sold directly in the Upland store, which is accessible by clicking on the UPX button at the top of the screen.

Players will have 24 hours to register prior to each sale of 2020 items. Once the sale begins, players will be placed into batches and randomly selected to mint their desired packs. After all registered participants have had a chance to mint a pack, players will be able to purchase additional packs after a brief cooldown period. 2020 Legits will return to the Upland store on a regular basis until all items from the 2020 season have been sold. 

While 2020 packs will be available exclusively for US dollars, 2021 items and beyond will be mintable with UPX! This adds serious value and utility to the UPX currency, which is the bedrock of the Upland economy. Of course, players will be able to trade their Legits between each other as well as sell them for UPX and USD once Fan Shops arrive.

Legit packs will be delivered to players approximately 7 days after purchase; players will be notified upon delivery.

2021 Legits

Although 2020 Legits are exclusively sold in packs, 2021 Legit NFTs will be minted on an individual basis, meaning players will mint Legits one at a time. Essentials will be available throughout the season, while Mementos will require players to pre-register for a chance to mint.

Players who wish to secure Mementos will need to register prior to a game's start. Players can queue up to mint a Memento for either team that is playing in a game. If selected, players will have an opportunity to pick the Memento of their choice, but will only be able to purchase one item. 

Completing Collections & Boosting Fan Scores

Players who purchase 2020 NFL Player Legits will gain a valuable advantage moving into the 2021 season. As soon as 2020 Legits become available, players will be able to start completing collections to boost fan scores for their favorite NFL players. Keep in mind, however, that 2020 Legits will only be used to complete 2020 collections while 2021 Legits will be used to complete 2021 collections. Once 2021 Legits arrive, players with better fan scores will have a better chance to mint Mementos for the players they love.
