What are Structure Ornament NFTs?
Structure Ornament NFTs are skins for your buildings in the metaverse and allow you to apply unique visuals to your building types. After a player acquires a Structure Ornament, it will not be tethered to specific structures or properties; meaning it can be moved across player-owned buildings at will. Each version of the structure ornaments will, however, only be applicable to the type of structure it was designed for. Structure Ornaments will be viewable in your asset wallet after they have been delivered and are fully tradable NFTs.
Winter Holiday Ornament NFTs will be seasonal in nature, and will only be available for use during the Winter Holiday season (Dec. 20th - Jan. 10th). Moving forward, these items will be re-enabled during the appropriate holiday seasons.
Delivery of Winter Holiday Ornaments will begin early next week, players will be notified once delivery begins.
The Spark Exchange Simulation
Some players may recall the Spark Exchange Simulation that we ran for Spirit Ornaments during the Halloween season. To keep things in line with our original message–that we are unwilling to break the rules of the metaverse–we will once again be simulating the Spark Exchange for this upcoming release of Winter Ornaments.
Upland will - in effect - “borrow” unstaked Spark from all Spark holders who wish to participate, and reward those players in the form of UPX. As such, we will be distributing a total of 9.9M UPX to all Spark holders with unstaked Spark. This process simulates the functionality of the future Spark Exchange, where players will be able to rent Spark from each other in exchange for UPX.
All registered Spark holders will be rewarded pro-rata, depending on the amount of unstaked Spark they currently hold. The 9.9M UPX reward pool is based on an estimation of the required costs to build the coming Structure Ornaments. This calculation is a function of what construction would cost in UPX per Spark Hours required to build. These rewards will be distributed only after the sale of Winter Holiday Ornaments has concluded.
A snapshot of current unstaked Spark holdings will be taken on Monday, December 20th, between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM PT. Players will need to unstake their Spark prior to the snapshot in order for it to qualify. Submissions to claim UPX will close on Monday, December 20th, at 7:00 AM PT.
