Upland’s Haunted Neighborhood Challenge

Update: The Leaderboard is now live. Please note that neighbourhoods with the lowest amount of ornaments will show as 0 on this leaderboard.

Roll out the tombstones. Drape the cobwebs. Pull out the hazard tape. Upland’s Haunted Neighborhood Challenge is here! This challenge determines the creepiest community node across all of Upland – so grab a neighbor and start spooking up your property!

The Haunted Neighborhood Challenge starts Monday, October 24 at 9:00 AM PT and ends on Thursday, October 27 at 9:00 AM PT. If you aren’t in a community node, this is the perfect time to find your favorite neighborhood. With a little community spirit and planning, you and your neighbors can win fantastic prizes and bragging rights all year long!

Haunted Neighborhood Challenge Details

Similar to the 2021 Upland Haunted Neighborhood Challenge, this challenge rewards the top three community nodes with the highest quantity, rarity, and variety of Halloween-themed Structure Decor items. Rankings will appear on a percentile-basis, relative to the performance of other nodes in the contest. The nodes that do the best job of teaming up with their community members to display their spookiest Structure Ornaments and use the widest variety of items will have the best chance of winning.

To participate in the challenge, players can use Spirit Halloween Structure Ornaments from 2021, this year’s Halloween Sale decor, or MetaSkull Structure Ornaments from the Jacky Tsai MetaSkull Collection

Note: To qualify, players must be an official resident of their neighborhood. If you have yet to designate an Upland Home Address, this is a great time to pick a node to call home!

Prizes

Players who are residents in the top neighborhood will each receive .01 Spark for each Ornament applied to a structure in the node up to a maximum of .03 Spark per person.

Also, the top-ranked neighborhood will get a custom racetrack designed by the Upland team in their node! Having a race track in your neighborhood comes with great benefits. Not only do you have a perfect place to burn rubber with your cars, other players will flock to your node to check out races as spectators or racers when these features launch.

The next two runner-up neighborhoods will also be eligible for rewards. Players in the second-place neighborhood will each receive 10,000 UPX for their efforts, and players in the third-place neighborhood will receive 5,000 UPX.

Dates Summary

Remember that you have to have an Upland Home Address in a node in order for your Halloween decor to count toward the challenge and to receive prizes if your node wins. If you’ve completed KYC identity verification already, setting up a Home Address is a snap! If you haven’t done this yet, please consider that this process can take a few days – so give yourself time to complete the process so you can participate in the Haunted Neighborhood Challenge.

Once you find the right node for you, make it your Upland Home Address and Halloween-ify your property before the challenge ends!

Challenge starts: Monday, October 24 at 9:00 AM PT

Challenge ends: Thursday, October 27 at 9:00 AM PT

Time to Get Spooky

Some of the coolest items come out in Upland during the Halloween season. If you don’t have Halloween decor, consider trading with other players. The items in the Halloween Sale go fast, so this might be your best bet. (You can also check out “bsts” channels in the Upland Discord to initiate trades.

Also, if you haven’t joined a node yet, now’s the time! Head to the Cities & Neighborhoods tab in the Upland Community Directory to find popular nodes spread across the metaverse. Or, jump into Discord to check out the node conversations or to start a node!
