After opening Outdoor Decor Showroom applications in November, it’s time to open the Showrooms! Players can now visit Outdoor Decor Showrooms to look at unique player-created items and other Outdoor Decor on display (such as FIFA World Cup™ Outdoor Decor).
Head to an Outdoor Decor Showroom by reviewing our Metaventure list here. Also, if you haven’t already, be sure to apply for an Outdoor Decor Showroom to start your Metaventure (pending player eligibility & Upland team review). New Showrooms will be opening continuously, so don’t worry if you applied and haven’t opened yet. Look out for new Showrooms in a neighborhood near you!

The ribbon is cut! The doors are open! For the first time, players can shop for Outdoor Decor in player-run Showrooms! This update is a major step forward for the ecosystem as it represents the purchasing and fulfillment end of the player-run economy.
If you recall our Outdoor Decor manufacturing announcement, a handful of players designed and manufactured their very own custom Outdoor Decor 3D items. However, they weren’t able to list or sell those items in Showrooms at that time. With today’s update, these same beta players will take that next step and open their Outdoor Decor Showrooms for real, in-game shopping.
That’s right! There is now a full supply chain and player-run economy from design to fulfillment in Upland!
The new Showroom functionality rolls out in phases. For starters, we’re launching this new Showroom functionality and utility a few players at a time. Beyond that, there are future plans to allow all qualified players to own and operate Outdoor Decor Showrooms. Also, future functionality will allow those running a Showroom to act as a sub-merchant who sells other players’ items.
As we mentioned, the first Outdoor Decor Showrooms belong to a group of beta players. At these Showrooms, players will have in-game transactions. These are not player-to-player swaps like we’ve already seen. This is the first-of-its-kind, end-to-end user-generated content that will have gone through an entirely in-game cycle from design to manufacturing to sale. It’s real entrepreneurism and commerce in the metaverse!
Here’s a breakdown of the Showroom shopping experience: Players will travel to one of these Showrooms, browse its inventory, and process a transaction with the merchant. As you can see in the image below, shoppers can see the item as well as its mint details, cost in UPX or USD, and other details.
After the transaction becomes irreversible on the blockchain, the item will appear in the buyer’s wallet. This can take a few minutes, by the way. In parallel, the buyer will need to place their newly purchased item on an owned property that has enough available space to display the item.
The beta players worked with our teams for months to make their custom creations a reality. Now they get to sell them to other players and let others enjoy their creations. There’s a real sense of entrepreneurism and accomplishment from these beta players, and we couldn’t be happier for them!

Outdoor Decor Showrooms represent a major advancement of Upland Metaventures and the player-owned economy. Our last Outdoor Decor update covered manufacturing, and this update covers shopping and fulfillment. Things are coming together, and more functionality is in the works! For example, we’re working on sub-merchant functionality and a feature that allows merchants to reserve specific items for specific players.
