Some players may recall the Spark Exchange Simulation that we ran for Winter Holiday Ornaments and Spirit Ornaments. To keep things in line with our original message–that we are unwilling to break the rules of the metaverse–we will once again be simulating the Spark Exchange for the recent release of Genesis Week Ornaments.
Upland will - in effect - “borrow” unstaked Spark from all Spark holders who wish to participate, and reward those players in the form of UPX. As such, we will be distributing a total of 5,005,143 UPX (based on total number of purchased ornaments and ornaments’ size) to Spark holders with unstaked Spark. This process simulates the functionality of the future Spark Exchange, where players will be able to rent Spark from each other in exchange for UPX.
All registered Uplanders with unstaked Spark at the time of the snapshot will be rewarded pro-rata, depending on the amount of unstaked Spark they currently hold. The 5.0M UPX reward pool is based on an estimation of the required costs to build the Genesis Week Structure Ornaments. This calculation is a function of what construction would cost in UPX per Spark Hours required to build. The UPX rewards will be distributed after the snapshot has been taken.

To claim your portion of the 5.0M UPX, you must register above by Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 at 7:00 AM PT and hold some amount of unstaked spark at the time of the snapshot. The snapshot of current unstaked Spark holdings will be taken on Wednesday, June 15th, 2022, between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM PT. Players will need to unstake their Spark prior to the snapshot and hold unstaked Spark at the time of the snapshot in order to qualify for the UPX rewards.

Ornaments are structure specific so be sure to get the one that fits your structure. The Genesis Week Ornament Sale will start on Thursday, June 2nd, 2022 at 9:00 AM PT. Registration is open NOW and will end one hour before the sale starts.
Genesis Week Ornaments will be available for use during Genesis Week until June 14th and delivered to Uplanders soon after purchase. The Genesis Week Ornaments will also be available for use in future Genesis Weeks.

Proceeds from the Genesis Week Ornament Sale will be shared with the designers of the specific Ornament. This is your chance to support those great designers who are continuing to leave their mark on the Upland metaverse. Congratulations to all the designers who will have their design in Upland!

Note: Once all registered players have had a chance to buy the Ornament they registered for, any remaining stock will be available to all players. At this time, players (previously registered or not) can purchase more than one of the same Ornament once the cooldown period between purchases has expired.
Structure Ornament NFTs are skins for your buildings in the metaverse and allow you to apply unique visuals to your building types. After a player acquires a Structure Ornament, it will not be tethered to specific structures or properties; meaning it can be moved across player-owned buildings at will. Each version of the structure ornaments will, however, only be applicable to the type of structure it was designed for. Structure Ornaments will be viewable in your asset wallet after they have been delivered and are fully tradable NFTs.
