Istanbul Is Coming to Upland

The wait is over. Istanbul, Türkiye is coming to Upland on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at 9 AM PT.

Positioned on the Bosphorus where Europe and Asia meet, Istanbul carries more than 2,000 years of political, religious, and artistic history. Known across its long history as Byzantium and Constantinople, the city served as the capital of the Eastern Roman and Ottoman empires. Now its layered history, waterfront character, and unmistakable energy are ready to open a new chapter in Upland.

This will be Upland’s first city release to open with Troves, giving players even more to discover as they explore Istanbul. If you know an Uplander who has been waiting for a reason to return, or a friend ready to discover Upland for the first time, invite them to arrive with you.

Hot Air Balloon Celebration

Celebrate Istanbul’s arrival with a first-of-its-kind Hot Air Balloon Trove celebration. The celebration takes off one hour after the city opens, on Thursday, October 29 at 10 AM PT, when hot air balloons go live in Upland across Istanbul.

The balloons give players a chance to collect special Troves that are normally obtainable only through recipes. For this celebration, you can collect those Troves directly, without fulfilling the recipes normally needed to obtain them. With a chance to even get some troves that haven’t yet been released!

A 25-minute cooldown applies, and the balloons will relocate randomly every hour across Istanbul throughout the celebration. Explore the map and return throughout the weekend for more chances to collect before the celebration ends on Saturday, October 31st at 9 AM PT.

We have never done a celebration like this before, and it is just a small preview of what Troves make possible. They give us new ways to bring rewards, exploration, and special events together, creating more reasons to jump in and discover what is happening across Upland.

And for the first time in Upland, we are showing off real-time movement on the map.

That’s right: the hot air balloons will move around in the air above a property in real time. This is the first time we are bringing real-time animation and movement into the game, and we are excited for you to see it. It is a preview of what is to come in Upland’s future.

A new chapter for landmark ownership is coming. In the upcoming travel system, landmarks will attract visits from residents and Uppies on their daily journeys. The more visitors your landmark attracts, the more Troves will automatically accumulate there for you to collect. This gives the Deluxe Bundle’s chance to receive a landmark even more to look forward to: a destination that draws visitors and rewards its owner for the activity it attracts.

Future collection automation is also planned for landmarks, giving owners a way to automatically collect the Troves their locations generate. More visits, more Troves, and new reasons to make Istanbul a destination worth exploring.

Istanbul Terminal Sale

Istanbul’s terminal sale offers players the opportunity to secure one of the city’s limited International Airport Terminal properties.

A major new chapter for terminal ownership is coming. In Upland’s upcoming travel system, residents and Uppies will take dynamic daily journeys between cities, with airport terminals helping connect that movement.

More traffic will mean more Troves accumulating at your terminal for you to collect, adding a new layer of rewards alongside those terminals already earned from player travel.

This is your chance to claim a place in Istanbul’s transportation network ahead of that next chapter. As Upland’s cities become more active and connected, your terminal will be part of the journeys that keep the world moving. Future automation is also planned to make collecting those Troves even easier for owners.

Istanbul Marina Properties

When fishing arrives, players will head out by boat to discover fish Troves, with different waters offering different catches.
