About

Upland is all about community and what we build together. Nodes are neighborhood communities in Upland, with boundaries based on neighborhoods in real cities. You can use the community directory below to find a node (or start your own node anywhere in Upland). There is no formal process for creating a node. All it takes is a few people working together who are willing to be a part of a neighborhood.

set your home address

Setting your home address is the initial step you’ll take to establish yourself in a neighborhood. The good news: it’s easy. Simply go into your profile, select a property that’s eligible to be used as a home address, and then set the property as your home address. That’s a wrap!

You must be Uplander or above to set your home address.

Connect with Others in Neighborhood Chat

The in-game chat function was designed with the spirit of community at the forefront. To begin using chat, you must first enable the chat feature, which can be found in the menu and turned on with a simple click. Once the feature is enabled, you’ll see the chat icon, which is found in the bottom left of your screen.

Neighborhood Rating Details

Upland is all about player-owned communities coming together, and Neighborhood Ratings are here to reward Nodes that pull together to build something special. Neighborhood Ratings measure the progress and development of each Neighborhood, or “Node,” in Upland. To do this, every Node is evaluated by a five-part rating system every month. The five factors are:

  • Average Spark Hours (SpH) allocated per property for building Structures (e.g., Residential Structures, Showrooms, Factories, Stadiums, Landmarks)
  • Average number of residents with a designated Upland Home Address per property
  • Average number of Metaventures per property
  • Average SpH allocated for Map Assets (aka Outdoor Decor) manufacturing per property
  • Average UPX contributed to the Community Pool each month per property

Neighborhood Ratings are calculated and updated once a day. We understand that these factors might give smaller Nodes an advantage since it might be easier to achieve higher “per property” statistics. To level the field, we’ve introduced a “grading curve” to the calculation that gives larger Nodes an additional multiplier to level the field. The goal is to ensure a fair scoring system for Neighborhood Ratings. As such, there may be adjustments to the grading curve or the evaluation factors above as we measure results.

Neighborhoods in Upland are THRIVING and the community is stronger than ever. While every neighborhood in Upland is central to our spirit of “community first”, we’d be remiss to not highlight some of the more well-established and entrepreneurial neighborhoods that continue to reinforce what Upland is all about: Our players, our people, and our community.

Howard Beach, Queens

“My beloved Howard Beach, of course.
The community so friendly and helpful. With flat hierarchy. It can be built however you want.
Because its size gives many opportunities. It’s booming, it’s still affordable, it’s becoming a vibrant shopping neighborhood with two racetracks for entertaining.”

Midtown Terrace, San Francisco

“This unique neighborhood in Queens I think is one of the top neighborhoods in Upland. What makes it unique is that, inside of that red line is our very first All Filipino node. (All Filipino Uplanders). The colors of our buildings was inspired from our Filipino flag in which consist of 3 main colors such as Blue, Red and Yellow. Moreover, when we started this node, the buildings in the area were still very few. When the node has finished it started to grow along the neighboring blocks then the construction in the area have even more sky rocketed when Uplandia layer 2 game has been announced. Today, Fresh Meadows is now of the most progressive neighborhood in Queens. Big thanks to Uplandia.”

“Bronxdale Bronx - Morecheese
Born and raised in The Bronx and lived on Matthews Ave in the Brondale area as my first apartment during college.
With the help of the UDU, I minted Bronxdale out and own the majority of properties.
I have been building out the Brondale Node with my own spark, and it is have been creating activity, level 2 collaboration (Uplandia), 62% built out and it looks like a beautiful wedge of cheese!
